Welcome to stepping out.
My name is Jeni Enjaian and I started this blog as a way to document my journey to becoming the person I know God wants me to be. It has evolved to so much more but I still have that core purpose.
A little background:
I live in Greenville, South Carolina. I have since I was born. In junior high, God worked in my heart and saved me. I am not ashamed to declare that I believe in Christ and want him to rule my life. I have one sister, Laura. Other family members including my father, mother, grandparents, a couple uncles, a few aunts and/or 6 cousins may make an appearance.
Who I am now:
After graduating with an undergraduate degree in history and a Masters degree in Middle Grades Education emphasizing Language Arts and Social Studies, I worked as a Spanish teacher in the public school system from August 2009 until June 2011.
Since Spanish was my minor in college God provided a job for me when many others were not as blessed.
My teaching career was difficult but I would not wish it away. God taught me so much even though most of it was not pleasant to experience. He did bless me with students that provided relief in the tough times.
At the beginning of my second year teaching God laid it on my heart to pursue a Masters degree in History. Currently, I am less than a semester away from completing a Master of Arts in History with the goal of obtaining a PhD in Latin American history some time soon in the future.
Soon after I started this blog I became a runner. I ran my first 5k on October 31, 2009. One year later I ran my first half marathon. (October 30, 2010) The year after that I ran my first marathon. (October 29, 2011) Since that first half marathon, my appetite for running has been insatiable.
Right now, I blog primarily about my passion for running. Soon, I hope to branch into the world of academia specifically in regards to history and teaching. The potential topics are endless, so hang on! I’m excited to see where this journey God has placed me on, will lead!
